Three Technologies, One Vision

Kaaj provides three proprietary technologies in a variety of configurations to reduce fossil fuel consumption, to reduce GHG emissions, to store and re-use electricity, to reduce capital and operating cost for many commercial and industrial applications in a reliable and economically viable way.

Kaaj's technologies are centred around a Thermal Energy Storage ("TES") device. The TES uses abundant, low-cost, high-density granular natural material as heat storage medium and heat transfer surface. As a result, we do not utilize conventional heat exchangers, significantly reducing the cost and environmental footprint of our solutions.

The power sub-systems are selected from off-the-shelf equipment to mitigate the hardware risk. Thanks to the mature technology of the power equipment, our solutions have a long lifespan of 20+ years.

Waste Heat Recovery (WHR)

To re-purpose industrial waste heat to useful heat such as process heating, space and water heating

This solution is proposed for mid-quality waste heat (<600°C) such as flue gas of cement and glass plants, exhaust of boilers, and exhaust of gas turbines/engines.

Combined Heat and Power (CHP)

To convert industrial waste heat to electricity and useful heat

This solution is proposed for high-quality waste heat (>600°C) such as furnaces of metal and glass industries as well as the flue gas of waste incinerators.

Electricity Storage (ES)

To store grid electricity during off-peak hours or excess generation of in-house renewable sources such as solar and wind, and subsequently to deliver electricity and useful heat for the client on demand

This solution is suitable for commercial and industrial clients where there is considerable electricity price difference between off-peak and high-demand hours.
